OK, I realize there is racism and some other aspects I just don't really care about the book because honestly it has little to do with my daily life.

You'd be surprised... It starts off slowly, but it really picks up later on. IMO, I thought it was a fantastic novel (though I read "Of Mice and Men" that same year and admit to enjoying that more). As I mentioned before, I'm reading Jane Eyre. I think thats less relevant to my life than TKAM was. I'm not saying its a bad novel at all (its actually pretty good thus far... for a chick book ;D), its just not as relevant to my life. I don't have deal with gender discrimination any near as often as many women do. Now if I was a woman, then... maybe... (lets not go there, please).

RR, "Of Mice and Men" was another amazing novel. Out of all the novels I had to read in high school the one I disliked the most was "Fahrenheit 451." I just could not get over the idea of burning books and libraries...Can you say NERD?!

The book that I well and truly hate is Wuthering Heights.

Neither am I.
Though I admit to being a bit of a romantic. Before anyone gets the wrong idea... (more of the third definition, really)
romantic 1. of, pertaining to, or of the nature of romance; characteristic or suggestive of the world of romance: a romantic adventure. 2. fanciful; impractical; unrealistic: romantic ideas. 3. imbued with or dominated by idealism, a desire for adventure, chivalry, etc.

I'm currently attempting "Lolita." My friend read it and enjoyed it, so she lent it to me. I've started it 3 times, but just can't get into it. I think I'll put it down and try it again in about a week and see if anything changes...

Well I finished Fiends of the Eastern Front Omnibus. Amazing. I can't wait till Fiends of the Rising Sun.
@rr The last book has several twists. At parts it gets extremely gory. There's some awkward parts in it as well. Although you might think the ending is a little corny. (Believe me it is.)
