Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Mark Twain [Samuel Langhornne Clemens] (1835-1910) Sure why not.

He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future. It is not truth that matters, but victory. Success is the sole earthly judge of right and wrong. The victor will never be asked if he told the truth. Words build bridges into unexplored regions. -Adolf Hitler on all the above

A true man hates no one.
All religions have been made by men.
Courage is like love; it must have hope to nourish it.
Death is nothing, but to live defeated and inglorious is to die daily.
Glory is fleeting, but obscurity is forever.
Great ambition is the passion of a great character. Those endowed with it may perform very good or very bad acts. All depends on the principles which direct them.
He who fears being conquered is sure of defeat.
If you wish to be a success in the world, promise everything, deliver nothing.
Impossible is a word to be found only in the dictionary of fools.
In politics stupidity is not a handicap.
It requires more courage to suffer than to die.
Men are Moved by two levers only: fear and self interest.
The best way to keep one's word is not to give it.
There is one kind of robber whom the law does not strike at, and who steals what is most precious to men: time.
You must not fear death, my lads; defy him, and you drive him into the enemy's ranks.
All of these were said by Napoleon Bonaparte.

So live, that when thy summons comes to join The innumerable caravan which moves To that mysterious realm, where each shall take 75 His chamber in the silent halls of death, Thou go not, like the quarry-slave at night, Scourged to his dungeon, but, sustained and soothed By an unfaltering trust, approach thy grave Like one who wraps the drapery of his couch 80 About him, and lies down to pleasant dreams.
From Thanatopsis by William Cullen Bryant (Written at the age of 17)

There are only two kinds of people that understand Marines: Marines and the enemy. Everyone else has a second-hand opinion. Gen. William Thornson, U.S. Army
Freedom is not free, but the U.S. Marine Corps will pay most of your share. Ned Dolan
We signed up knowing the risk. Those innocent people in New York didn't go to work thinking there was any kind of risk. Pvt. Mike Armendariz-Clark, USMC; Afghanastan, 20 September 2001 As reported on page 1 of the New York Times
The safest place in Korea was right behind a platoon of Marines. Lord, how they could fight! MGen. Frank E. Lowe, USA; Korea, 26 January 1952
Marines know how to use their bayonets. Army bayonets may as well be paper-weights. Navy Times; November 1994
Why in hell can't the Army do it if the Marines can. They are the same kind of men; why can't they be like Marines. Gen. John J. "Black Jack" Pershing, USA; 12 February 1918
The United States Marine Corps, with its fiercely proud tradition of excellence in combat, its hallowed rituals, and its unbending code of honor, is part of the fabric of American myth. Thomas E. Ricks; Making the Corps, 1997
A Ship without Marines is like a coat without buttons. Adm. Farragut
"I want you boys to hurry up and whip these Germans so we can get out to the Pacific to kick the shit out of the purple-pissing Japanese, before the Goddanmed MARINES get all the credit!" Lt General George Patton, US Army 1945
"We're not retreating, Hell! We're just attacking in a different direction!" GEN. OLIVER SMITH, USMC
WE STOLE THE EAGLE FROM THE AIR FORCE, THE ANCHOR FROM THE NAVY AND THE ROPE FROM THE ARMY. ON THE SEVENTH DAY WHILE GOD RESTED, WE OVERRAN HIS PERIMETER, STOLE THE GLOBE AND WE'VE BEEN RUNNING THE WHOLE SHOW EVER SINCE. WE LIVE LIKE SOLDIERS, TALK LIKE SAILORS, AND SLAP THE HELL OUT OF BOTH OF THEM. WARRIORS BY DAY, LOVERS BY NIGHT, PROFESSIONALS BY CHOICE, AND MARINES BY THE GRACE OF GOD.
The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his. General George Patton, US Army
"The more you sweat in peace...The less you bleed in war!"
If You Run You Will Only Die Tired.
When General Patton died after World War 2 he went to the gates of Heaven to talk to St. Peter. The first thing he asked is if there were any Marines in heaven. St. Peter told him no, Marines are too rowdy for heaven. He then asked why Patton wanted to know. Patton told him he was sick of the Marines overshadowing the Army because they did more with less and were all hard-core sons of bitches. St. Peter reassured him there were no Marines so Patton went into Heaven. As he was checking out his new home he rounded a corner and saw someone in Marine Dress Blues. He ran back to St. Peter and yelled "You lied to me! There are Marines in heaven!" St. Peter said "Who him? That’s just God. He wishes he were a Marine."

"One of the most untruthful things possible, you know, is a collection of facts, because they can be made to appear so many different ways. " "We need criminals to identify ourselves with, to secretly envy and to stoutly punish. They do for us the forbidden, illegal things we wish to do. " "What's done to children, they will do to society. " All of these were said by this guy: Karl A. Menninger
