Their opener (Jake Owen) played for half an hour. They played for just about 2 hours.

I had forgotten that they were on until it has half-way through. I ended up not watching it anyways because I find the Oscars to be terribly overlong. Its so much easier to get up the next morning and read about them.
Yes, its lazy, but I'd rather spend doing something like that in 10 minutes as opposed to over three hours.
BTW, I haven't seen the German film that won Best Foreign Language Film, so I can't judge it, but I still think "Pan's Labyrinth" was very worthy of winning.

I didn't watch the Oscars cuz I was working last night...but I see no reason to watch them anyways...they are always SOOOO long and boring.

I agree.
Also, I wish their wasn't so much focus on the fashion and what not. Its basically a competition on who spends the most money on their outfit that they'll never wear again.
Its about film, not fashion. I fear the Sundance Festival is going that path, much to Redford's extreme annoyance.

I don't know why, but I'm actually surprised that The Departed won Best Picture. Its a great movie, but for some reason I didn't expect it to win.

Yeah..... anyways.....
Anyone going anywhere for Spring Break?
I'd already committed myself to visiting some family and possibly helping my grandmother move into her new home.

Foot surgery... what happened?

I've sprained my ankle about 5 or 6 times, and roll it 3 or 4 times a week. Last time I sprained my ankle, I tore all of the ligaments, which is the reason I've rolled so often since. I had an arthroscopy done, where the doctor cleaned up the damaged cartilege, and he then cut the ligametns and reattached them so that they are tighter and I will not roll my ankle anymore (hopefully). I'll be off of my feet for at least the next 6 weeks, if not longer...

Since I'm only part-time, most likely not...but I'm waiting to hear back from them...I filled out the paperwork and sent it in, so I'll wait and see...

Hope so, because 6 weeks w/o pay isn't good...
So its that bad? The closest thing to surgery on my foot was an ingrown toenail, which isn't really surgery at all. Though, it was totally numb for over a day... and painful for a couple of weeks. What sucks though is that its come back AND now I have an ingrown toenail on my OTHER big toe. Its on both sides of the nail, btw.
So, whenever I stub either foot or someone steps on either, it hurts like hell. Thankfully, I can walk ok...
Your foot injury... is this something thats built up over time?

Yes, it's been progessively getting worse since I first sprained it about 6 years ago. Rolling it so often has helped the ligaments get so stretched out as well.

Well, I hope it gets better. Your feet is one of the worst places to have any sort of injury when your job requires you to be active on your feet.

Yeah, I promised I'd volunteer and cover a friend quite by working at a concession stand because he couldn't make it (NOTE: this was a few years ago). Unfortunately for me, I tore a ligament in my big toe two days before I promised I'd work all day, all weekend (God, I have problems with my big toes). What had happened, was that I had jumped into the shallow end of a pool and as I was about to hit the bottom, my left big toe bent down and smashed into pool floor. I had to wear a modified shoe for a month. I could still walk as long as I walked on my heel, but that doesn't help when you have to stand for hours.

Ouch. Yeah, in addition to spraining my ankles, I have bunions, and sesamoiditis on my right foot, so I walk on the outside of my foot, which makes me more inclined to roll or sprain my ankle. GOtta love it...
