I was just wondering what everyone's views were on this repeal of the resolution:
Description: UN Resolution #81: Definition of Marriage (Category: Human Rights; Strength: Mild) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.
Argument: This resolution goes too far. It mandates what a constitutes a "marriage" with no respect for a nation's religious beliefs, or societal structure.
The last line is also disturbing: "FURTHER RECOGNIZES all nation's right to expand this definition beyond species borders as the individual governments see fit."
This is an endorsement of beastiality, and it should have no business being in the UN. Therefore, we shall hereby strike "Definition of Marriage," knowing that the individual nations know best what is a marriage and what isn't.

If the author of this proposal actually provided information regarding the resolution they wish to expand, then I'd find it easier to agree/disagree.
This resolution feels shallow, with little or no proof to back up their proposal. They don't even tell us what the description of the resolution that we are "striking out and rendering null and void" is.
Does anybody know exactly what the "Definition of Marriage" resolution was/is?

I don't see any reason to repeal this. I personally believe people should have the right to marry whomever (or whatever) they love (just as long as the other person agrees also).
Besides, the author of the resolution to repeal this the "Definition of Marriage" gave no concrete reason as to why we should agree with them and repeal the marriage resolution.

I'm also glad I'm not the only one with a similar opinion. This repeal just feels ridiculous and a waste of our time.

It unfortunately appears that this resolution shall pass It feels like just about every resolution passes. I think most people just vote "FOR" the current resolutions without actually reading the description.
