I've seen this thread around elsewhere and figured we might as well use it ourselves... It works just like "WALYT"... state the most recent movie you've seen and perhaps share your thoughts on it. I just re-watched Ninja Scroll... awesome movie. Great animation and great action sequences... though not for the squeamish. Rotten Tomatoes page: www.rottentomatoes.com/m/ninja_scroll Apparently, it was one of the Wachowski brother's main influences when filming the Matrix.

I just watched Reservoir Dogs... again.
Awesome movie, as ever.
I used to think the movie was just one big hype machine (like the Scarface remake), but when I watched it, I became a believer.
Its hard to believe the movie was made on only a $1.2 million budget...

Well....., IMO, I find it to be inferior to the original.
I'm not saying its bad... I just personally find it overrated.

Apparently so.
Anyways, while its not technically a movie, I did just watch 4 episodes of Berserk.

Pan's Labyrinth, so good, yet so dark.
Very dark fairy tale and pretty violent too. Not your little sibling's bedtime story.

I went to visit some family and watched plenty of movies while there... I've been watching a lot of Japanese films lately... I don't know why...
RAN - Akira Kurosawa's re-telling of King Lear Nobody Knows - Inspired by a true story about four kids who were abandoned by their mother in an apartment and forced to survive on their own for many months... the oldest was 12. Samurai I - First movie of a trilogy, apparently.

Zack Snyder does Frank Miller's graphic novel justice. After seeing this and his re-invisioning of Dawn of the Dead, Snyder has convinced me that he's worthy enough to direct the motion picture adaption of Alan Moore's The Watchmen.
The violence isn't as bad as it would seem... its very... comic book-ey (for lack of a better term).
Badass movie, by the way.

I had a sudden craving for Steve McQueen movies recently, so... I recently watched (or re-watched):
Bullitt, which features one of the most famous and highly influential car chase scenes. The Getaway The Great Escape and, the Seven Saumrai re-make, The Magnificent Seven

I've been watching all sorts of Shakespearian adaptations for class. Especially interesting are Akira Kurosawa's Throne of Blood (Macbeth) and Ran (King Lear). There's also The Forbidden Planet (The Tempest), West Side Story (Romeo and Juliet) and Kiss Me Kate (The Taming of the Shrew).

@cat I mention watching Ran earlier on this page.
Its a great movie.
I saw Hot Fuzz on opening day and Spider-man 3 on opening day as well (not at midnight though.) <--- Nerd.
Hot Fuzz was simply, awesome. It was funny and really intense.
Spider-man 3 was enjoyable. The action sequences were great and I left the theater fairly satisfied. But I turned on the t.v. and the second movie was on and I came to the realization that the third movie lacked one thing that made the first two so good. The emotional punch.

Oh, everyone else said there was too much emotion in the third one.
