The book was..... ok..... I didn't care too much for the writing style used in the book.
You're a bibliophile? What genre of books do you enjoy? (I prided myself in being one of the few people at my school who actually read in their spare time)

Lately I've been reading many political books, per my major. However, I read almost everything, sci fi, fantasy, romance... Basically, as long as it's a book and it looks interesting, I'll pick it up and read it.

I'm more of a sci-fi/fantasy person with some satire thrown into the mix. Though that doesn't mean I limit myself to what I read, for example, I enjoyed The Accidental Tourist (though some people don't). Its funny, I started a topic about movies and the topic moved to the opposite of film: literature.

I haven't read that one yet. My last book was "The Prince and the City" about Rudolph Giuliani. Now I'm just starting to read "Boss" about Richard M. Daley, the original Daley mayor of Chicago.

I'm surprised that I haven't read it previously because the concept is something I could totally get into.

I've read it a few times. Funny story regarding 1984...I was at a party at the local bar at my school, and the faculty band was playing, singing "1985." And I was like, WTF? Why can't there be anything good about 1984, like a movie or a song or a book. And then I realized, "Oh yeah, I'm a smart one. George Orwell wrote a book entitled "1984." Oh yeah.

(Actually, Orwell's "Animal Farm" is one of my fav's. I'm currently reading "Devil in White City" about the Chicago Columbian Exposition and what probably was the first serial killer.)

I have yet to read that one. I just love Chicago's lovely political machine and everything that goes on here with our crazy gangsters and everyone.

I forgot about Animal Farm.
I read it in school and I really enjoyed it. Though a lot of people in my English class didn't (probably they've never read a book outside of school intheir life).

Animal Farm was a good book. I have the video of it somewhere in my basement here. I think I'm going to pull both it and the book out tomorrow and do some quick reading after work...Then watch the movie before hitting the sack tomorrow night as well...
