Hard to say, Hitler = good leader, bad ideals, Napoleon = good leader, a few problems with his ideals.

Hitler was a good manipulator and Orator and that is pretty much it. He was not a very good tactician and was a bit crazy.
But Napoleon was a different story.

How do you think Hitler was able to take over most of Europe while being a bad tactician? And no, Rommel was not why.... Rommel was in Africa.

Well he was surrounded by very good generals and advisors. Like Eichmann and Rommel.
And RR Hitler took over most of Europe by annexing the countries around him. His only major victories were in France and Poland. And yes some of Spain during the Spainish Civil War.

I'm not trying to make Hitler look good, but he was a better military tactician than you give him credit. Eisenhower was surrounded by many other very good tacticians, but that doesn't diminish his talent.

Eisenhower was a very good tactician and commander, thats why he was chosen to lead Operation Overlord.

Okay...then why did you use him as an example when you were trying to prove that somebody was a good tactician when he was a good tactician.

Okay...then why did you use him as an example when you were trying to prove that somebody was a good tactician when he was a good tactician. *sigh* nm, you didn't get the point I was trying to make. You said that Hitler was successful because he had some great generals... but the analogy I was using was that Eisenhower had many talented tacticians under his wing that probably contributed greatly... but because he had some talented tacticians doesn't mean that he wasn't himself. If you still don't get it, then just forget about it. I'm starting to look like a Hitler sympathizer (I assure you I am far from it)

You know we actually had this discussion in a class. Rachel and I said that Hitler was a great leader in the sense that he knew how to get what he wanted and everyone else disagreed.

Is Rachel the girl you were talking about that allegedly "hates everyone" like you claim you do so yourself? But back on topic, plenty of people agreed. The general population were constantly under fire from propaganda. There are pictures of large groups of crowds waving mini-Nazi flags. I'm not saying that no one disagreed, but it was pretty hard to when the government was telling you one thing and doing the other. Many Germans were actually made to believe that the Holocaust was a good thing.
